An enlarged early eighteenth century edition of Dutch theologian Hermann Witsius' (1636-1708) monumental miscellany of critical-theological explications of, inter alia, the Levitical tabernacle and religious ceremonies of the Jews, the history of the Biblical prophets (including a chapter on prophetesses), the Beasts of Daniel, the cult of Molochand, the controversies of the Anglican Church, and whether the Apostles travelled to America to preach the Gospel, and, indeed, whether there was knowledge of America prior to the voyages of Columbus.
