A deliciously satirical work by Irish poet Thomas Moore (1779-1852) which parodies the Aix-la-Chapelle diplomatic conference, between Britain and her then allies, through the guise of a boxing match. The political pugilistic plea begins with a lengthy prefaratory address burdened with pseudo scholarship, with the poem itself being laden with nonsense footnotes.
