With ink inscription to recto of dedication reading 'With best regards to Charlotte Hamilton from Marianne Tallot(?)', otherwise internally clean and crisp.
Caroline Anne Southey, nee Bowles (1786-1854), was an English composer of verse and the second wife of Poet Laureate and Romantic, Robert Southey. The birth-day is a work of autobiographical blank verse, and was the first in which she broke her anonymity.
