A treatise by Dutch classical scholar David Ruhnken (1723-1798) on the comedies of Roman Republic playwright Terence (c.195-59 BCE), handsomely bound for Harrow school and awarded to pupil Horatio Scott by then headmaster, Christopher Wordsworth (1774-1846), nephew of famed poet William. Wordsworth accepted the position in 1836 and began immediately reforming and improving the academic prospects of the school. Ultimately however his management of students and facilities alike proved unpopular, with the board of governors calling for his resignation in 1844.
