Extremities rubbed, slight splitting to joints, loss to head and foot of spine, private library shelf-label to upper board. Later armorial bookplate to FEP of Edward William Harcourt, with the motto 'Le Bon Temps Viendra', private library shelf-label to recto of FFEP, small pen-trial to title-page, light damp-staining to lower corner of initial four gatherings and upper corner of final gathering.
A finely printed, early Parisian printing of the popular philosophy primer in twelve books, by Frans Titelmans, (1502-1537), Flemish philosopher and theologian, first printed in Antwerp thirteen years earlier by Simon Cock. A member of the Franciscan order, Titelmans was famed for his academic work on Aristotelian philosophy, and also notorious for his opposition to Erasmus's humanist translations.
