Heavily rubbed, upper joint split, lower joint starting. Two small later paper repairs to verso of map, else internally clean and crisp. Later armorial bookplate of Admiral Sir Graham E. Hamond to FEP, with his inked ownership inscription to head of title page.

Sir Graham Eden Hamond (1779-1862), respected naval officer notable for his commands during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Following a distinguished career, including a period serving as Commander-in-Chief, South American Station, Hamond attained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet.
