[s.i.]. [s.n.], [s.d., c.1888]
Quarto. Nine sepia photographs mounted on [9] leaves, followed by [12] leaves of manuscript text (written on one side only). Contemporary dark green morocco-backed green buckram boards, lettered in gilt. Extremities rubbed. Marbled endpapers, internally clean and crisp.
A photographic study on the St. Ursula Shrine, a carved and gilded wooded reliquary, with oil on panel insets by German artist Hans Memling (c.1430-1494), held at the St. John's Hospital, Bruges. Following the photographs is a manuscript history of St. Ursula, Hans Memling, and the creation of the shrine dated 1888 and signed by Glasgow-born painter, lithographer, and engraver Robert Brydall (1839-1907) who presumably compiled the album.
