The first London edition, reprinted from the first French edition of the year prior, of Stéphanie Félicité, Comtesse de Genlis' (1746-1830) historical novel set during the French Wars of Religion. The work is dedicated to Pauline Brady, an avid admirer who had withdrawn to on estate on the outskirts of Orléans to devote herself to the education of her children according to the author's methods.
