The first edition of British colonial civil servant Henry Jeffreys Bushby's (1820-1903) epistolary account of his experiences during the Crimean War, including lively and personal recollections of the siege of Sevastopol and the Battles of Balaclava and Inkerman from the oft-neglected perspective of a non-combatant. Two further editions appeared in the same year as the first.
