A rare catalogue bookseller’s catalogue produced by the Edinburgh-based John Stevenson, consisting of 556 individually priced books, and 25 works, printed privately for Walter Scott’s Bannatyne Club, offered as a collection (‘at a price to be agreed upon’). Largely Scottish in focus, Stevenson’s offerings include a wealth of limited editions, with descriptions of thick paper copies, uncut edges and fine copies abounding. The final three pages list the Bannatyne Club collection, which includes the rare catalogue of the printed works, of which only forty copies were issued.
