An anonymous reply to Shrewsbury vicar Richard De Courcy's (1743-1803) A Letter to a Baptist-Minister (Shrewsbury, 1766), a controversial pamphlet addressed to Baptist minister Samuel Medley (1738-1799) condemning the baptism of adults by immersion. The present response, an attempt at mediation between the two clergymen, was one of several publications to appear on the periphery of the brief pamphlet war waged between the principle disputants.
