8vo. 119pp, [1]. With a colour frontispiece and a folding chart. Original publisher's blue cloth, stamped and ruled in black, lettered in gilt. Lightly rubbed. Occasional light spotting, several very short tears to chart margins.
The sole edition of a provincially published record of the genealogy of the Somerset family of Meriet from the reign of Edward the Confessor to the the death of Sir John de Meriet in 1391. The head of the family in 1066, as recorded by the Domesday Book, was Eadnoth the Staller who owned the village of Merriott from which his descendants would take their name.
