The second edition, printed in the same year as the first, of writer and bookseller Andrew Henderson's (1717-1776) succinct history of the 1745 Jacobite rising. This work was quite popular, being pirated twice and reprinted three times. Henderson had been an eyewitness to the events of the rebellion, and in 1746 produced his first publication, Expeditio militaris, sive Britannia liberata, an ode in praise of the duke of Cumberland.
