[WARING, Sarah]. The revocation of the edict of nantes, and its consequences to the Protestant Churches of France and Italy...

London. Printed for Darton and Harvey, 1833. First edition.
12mo. vii, [1], 229pp, [1]. With an engraved frontispiece. Contemporary dark green half-calf, marbled boards, contrasting red morocco lettering-piece, gilt, marbled edges. Extremities rubbed. Marbled endpapers, occasional light spotting.
The sole English edition of an historical sketch, intended for a juvenile readership, on the political and social consequences arising from the revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685, in particular the persecution of notable French Huguenots of Cévennes, and including a précis of the lately published A Narrative of the Sufferings of a French Protestant Family, written by John Migault, the Father (London, 1824).

Further editions were published at Philadelphia by the Presbyterian Board of Publication. Biographical details for Sarah Waring do not appear to have survived; indeed of the five books of hers published with Darton, not one bears her name.
