The first separate edition in book form of three critical essays by Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832) on romance, chivalry, and drama respectively, that according to the publisher's notice are 'extracted from the Supplement to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, and cannot consequently be procured in England separately'.
