The first edition of the first published work of English-born American painter, illustrator, and child prodigy Pamela Bianco (1906-1944), the product of her first exhibition at the Leicester Galleries, in 1919, held she was only thirteen. Walter de la Mare, having been moved by the show, composed the poems that accompany Bianco's drawings in this volume.
