The first edition of a summary of the conclusions of Robert Graves (1895-1985) - with the assistance of expert on Hebrao-Aramaic aspects of primitive Christianity Joshua Podro - regarding the Gospel of the Nazarenes, the traditional but hypothetical name given by scholars to distinguish references to, or citations of, non- canonical Jewish-Christian Gospels extant in patristic writings. The exhaustive, and often speculative, reconstruction was previously set forth in the author's substantial unabridged Nazarene Gospel Restored (1954).
