A rare private Parliamentary bill, secured by Irish Peer Henry O’Brien, seventh Earl of Thomond (1688-1741) and brother- in-law of Henry Cromwell, enabling him to grant freehold leases on his estates, despite the terms of his marriage settlement outlining that he only held his property on a life tenancy.
