The first edition of a speech on increasing the British armed forces delivered by Prime Minister William Pitt (1759 – 1806), who upon his first appointment became the youngest Prime Minister of Britain ever, aged just 24 years old. Bound with a second speech from Pitt delivered in 1800, concerning negotiations for peace with France, and a 1794 speech delivered by Richard Wellesley, 2nd Earl of Mornington (1760–1842), addressing the dilemma of 'War or Peace?'.
