The second posthumous edition, revised and expanded from the 1838 first, of Giovanni Battista Passeri's (1694-1780) treatise on Italian Majolica paintings; first published at Venice in 1758.

From the recently dispersed library of Howth Castle, County Dublin, seat of the Gaisford-St Lawrence family, of which notable members include Thomas Gaisford (1789-1855), English classical scholar, sometime curator of the Bodleian Library, Regius Professor of Greek at Oxford, and Dean of Christ Church.
