A mid-seventeenth-century edition, translated and edited by Henri Estienne, of a collection of odes to victory attributed to Pindar, the ancient Greek poet considered among the greatest exponents of choral poetry. In these pieces, the author sings the victories of the Doric aristocratic youth (to which he belonged) at the Pan-Hellenic games.
