The first edition in English of seven casuistical lectures on the nature of oath giving delivered by Church of England clergyman Robert Sanderson (1587-1663) at Oxford University during Michaelmas, 1646. First published in 1647 as De Juramenti Promissorii, this edition was purportedly translated by Charles I whilst a prisoner on the Isle of Wight.
