An apparently unrecorded mid-nineteenth-century handbill advertising 'handsome mahogany' tables 'having a surface of perfect smoothness' as 'an excellent substitute for ice, whereby the national game of curling may be enjoyed indoors'. The advertisement was additionally printed in the Glasgow Herald, 28th October, 1850.
