Folio. [2], 59pp, [1]. With an engraved portrait frontispiece by Coenrad Waumans of the dedicatee, Peder Greve af Griffenfeld. Title in red and black. Later vellum. Frontispiece and title page a trifle creased and spotted, ink-stamps of the Library of Breslau to both recto and verso of title page.
The first edition of antiquarian Thomas Bartholin the Younger's (1659-1690) history of the chivalric orders of Denmark up to the reign of Christian V (1646-1699); an exercise undertaken by the author, at the least in part, to honour the dedicatee, high chancellor of Denmark Peder Schumacher, count af Griffenfeld (1635-1699) who, in the year of publication had been arrested on charges of bribery, tried, and sentenced to death (though his sentence was commuted to life imprisonment at the last moment).
