A contemporary account - edited from a manuscript in the possession of Sir Walter Scott by antiquary Charles Kirkpatrick Sharpe (1781-1851) - by Lady Margaret Cunningham (d. 1622?) of the brutal cruelty she suffered at the hands of her first husband Sir James Hamilton (d. in or after 1608), Master of Evandale.
