John Cuthell (1743-1828), emigrated from Scotland to London in 1771, where he became an apprentice of Drew, of Middle Row, Holborn, whom he succeeded. He was publishing catalogues from 1787, and was noted for his stock of medical and scientific books. His partnership with Martin, begun in 1802, appears to have dissolved by 1810. He was succeeded by Francis Macpherson, who issued the thirtieth number of his catalogue in April, 1840.
