An extended Georgian edition of Reading schoolmaster Richard Valpy's (1754-1836) poetical pedagogical romp through English history, first published in 1794; commencing with the Norman Conquest and concluding with the ascension of George IV to the throne. Valpy's numerous textbooks earned him widespread respect, adding to a not inconsiderable reputation as an educator - indeed he at one time declined headmastership of Rugby.
