Rubbed, chipping to head and foot of dulled spine, upper board held by cord only. Marbled endpapers, remnants of armorial bookplate to verso of FFEP, manuscript extracts, in two separate unidentified hands, from John Wilson's elegy on the author to rear blank endpapers. Inked inscription to head of title: 'To John Robertson from his sincere friend, James Grahame. 27th October 1818' (presumably the author's son).
