The sole edition of a collection of sentimental verse, 'written during brief intervals of leisure in the life of a busy mother', by Liverpool-based Quaker poet, Elizabeth Hadfield, of whom little is known. The British Friend (April, 1855. p.98) reviewed the work favourably, noting that although Hadfield's religious sentiments are unexceptional, 'her verses flow sweetly'.
