Contemporary hand-painted vellum, elaborately lettered 'Fra Angelico' in red, green, and blue to upper board, embellished with heightened in burnished gilt, decorated endpapers, protective red paper wrapper with imitation crocodile skin pattern. Wrapper rubbed with some loss to head and foot of backstrip. A trifle discoloured.
An extravagantly bound copy, almost certainly in Italy for the tourist trade, of art historian James Mason's otherwise perfunctory biography of Renaissance master Fra Angelico.
