John Skinner (1721–1807), Scottish Episcopalian Minister at Longside, Aberdeen and historian. A friend and correspondent of Robert Burns, who admired Skinner's dialect poetry and included his famous song 'Tullochgorum' in the second volume of The Scots Musical Museum (Edinburgh, 1788). Two complimentary letters from Burns to Skinner were first published here.
