The sole edition of author and librarian Richard Garnett's (1835-1906) translation of 124 select sonnets by Dante, Petrarch, and Camoens. As the author states in his prefatory remarks: 'The order of Dante's sonnets in this volume is that of the originals in the edition of Fraticelli, and the Arabic numerals in parenthesis correspond to his numeration. The Arabic numeration of Petrarch's sonnets agrees with that of the editions of Marsand and Leopardi; and that of Camoens with the edition of Juromenha'.
