[s.i.]. [s.n.], [1919].
Dimensions 210 x 260 mm. Single leaf handbill. Old horizontal and vertical folds.
An apparently unrecorded handbill, issued by Commander-in- Chief of the British Indian Army General Sir Charles Carmichael Monro (1860-1929), announcing the commencement of hostilities against Afghan aggression in what would become the Third Anglo-Afghan War:

'The Indian Army has fought valiantly in every theatre of war during the past four years; the officers and soldiers are rich in the experience they have gained. I am therefore confident that the Army will fight with the splendid spirit it has always shown, to punish effectively this treacherous enemy who have had the insolence to challenge the supremacy of British and Indian soldiers.'
