The second edition of Richard Le Gallienne's (1866-1947) Book Bills of Narcissus, first published in 1891. The plot concerns a man named Narcissus Marsh, whose obsession with books and literature is explored through a series of essays. Le Gallienne, best known for being the father of Broadway star Eva Le Gallienne, would have an affair with the most noted admirer of Narcissus, Oscar Wilde, in 1888.
