The first edition in English of Squire Hellman and Other Stories, a collection of shorter tales from Finnish novelist and short story writer Juhani Aho (1861-1921). Nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature twelve times, Aho's work was characterised by its realistic depiction of rural Finnish life, and later, its romantic nationalism.
