The sole edition of Winchester, privately printed for the author, clergyman Charles Townsend (1789-1870); curate and contemporary of Samuel Rogers, Wordsworth and Hallam, considered part of the 'Holland House Circle'. The volume is both a Hampshire and a Sussex book, and contains very pleasant verse with some prose reflections.
