An attractively bound copy of The Divan of Hafez, a collection of poetry by the great Iranian poet Hafez. Likely compiled after his death, the poems are largely in Persian, but there exist some macaronic poems in Persian and Arabic, and an entirely Arabic ghazal.
Translated by English poet Richard Le Gallienne (1866-1947), best known for being the father of Broadway star Eva Le Gallienne, who would also have an affair with Oscar Wilde in 1888.
