A late eighteenth century edition of the perennially popular juvenile poems of Hieronymous van Alphen (1746-1803); notable for being the first texts in Dutch written especially for children. This edition is profusely illustrated with attractive engraved plates after designs by celebrated Dutch artist Jacobus Buys (1724- 1801).
