An apparently unrecorded Glaswegian reprint, published in the same year as the sole Canadian edition, of a series of ten letters, which initially appeared at intervals in the Montreal Herald from April to June, 1815, attacking the civil and military administration in Canada of Governor-in-Chief of British North America Sir George Prevost (1767- 1816) during the War of 1812.

The letters are commonly attributed to Montreal merchant and executive councillor John Richardson (c. 1754-1831) who identified with an Anglophone faction which detested Prevost for his support of French over English interests. The most damning letters attributed the British retreats from Sackets Harbor, New York, in 1813 and Plattsburgh in 1814 to cowardice and stupidity on Prevost's part.
