A revised edition of poet and chapbook author Dougal Graham's (bap. 1721, d. 1779) verse narrative of the Jacobite Rebellion.
First printed in 1746, this work of metrical journalism provides a racy and detailed account of more than 5000 lines drawn from both written and personal sources. Graham is thought to have accompanied the Jacobite army throughout much of their campaign, serving in essence as war correspondent for the Glasgow booksellers. Later editions were substantially rewritten to include the travels of Charles Edward Stuart following defeat at the Battle of Culloden.
