Recent half-calf, marbled paper boards, contrasting calf lettering-piece. Rubbed, spine sunned. Later inked ownership inscription to verso of title page, short tear to engraved plan at fold, naively repaired with tape to verso, dampstained throughout.
A history of Exeter compiled from the city's archives by Devonshire lawyer Richard Izacke (c.1624-1698), who also served as Chamberlain of the city. His son Samuel would later compile further editions, with greatly extended titles.
