The first edition of Thomas Woodbine Hinchliff's (1825-1882) round-the-world memoir, recounting his intrepid journey across 35,000 miles of sea with friend William Henry Rawson. An English mountaineer, traveller, and author, Hinchliff served from 1875 to 1877 as the seventh President of the Alpine Club, and was considered a moderately significant figure in the Golden Age of Alpinism.
