London. Printed for John Murray...by W. Bulmer and Co., 1814. Sixth edition.
8vo. [7], 10-17pp, [3]. With a terminal leaf of publisher's advertisements. Recent green cloth, blind-stamp of Nottingham Public Libraries to upper board. A trifle rubbed and marked. Typed bookseller's pasted to FEP, blind-stamp and manuscript shelf-mark of Nottingham Public Libraries to title page, scattered spotting.
The sixth edition of Byron's Ode to Napoleon Buonaparte, written under the misguided impression that Napoleon had suffered an inglorious fall post-Leipzig. Composed in stages, and first published anonymously, the poem ridicules Napoleon for his failure to achieve a promised great destiny, and expresses disappointment in his decision to abdicate in the face of Europe's disdain.
