A French edition of John Wesley's (1703-1791) home medical handbook originally titled Primitive Physic, Or an Easy and Natural Method of Curing Most Diseases. Receiving 23 editions and selling over a million copies, the original text became the most popular medical manual of its day. Wesley, a cleric and evangelist, encouraged his preachers to carry a copy with them in their travels.
