A selection of 'beauties' taken from the works of Byron by Alfred Howard. The literary concept of 'beauties', popular in the eighteenth century, emphasised the power of isolated passages to stir emotion in the reader with their technical ornaments. In this case, Howard pulls passages from Byron's long poems, drama, sonnets, and short verse which he deems reflective of the poet's most affecting work.
