An 'improved' version of Edmond Hoyle's (1672-1769) collected works, concerning card and board games and their strategy. First published individually or in small groups, first by Francis Cogan and later by Thomas Osborne, Hoyle's pamphlets would become the national standard in their genre, pushing outdated volumes off the market.
