The second edition of a popular work on Classical literary criticism by Henry Felton (1679-1740), English clergyman and academic. Written for his pupil, John, Lord Roos, later third Duke of Rutland, Felton offers points of criticism and discussion on the great writers of the Ancient World, among them Horace, Homer and Virgil, to encourage the reader in nurturing their own critical voice.
