With a terminal index and list of plates. an engraved portrait frontispiece, additional engraved title page, large folding map, numerous engraved in-text illustrations, and 48 further engraved plates, largely depicting the landscapes and settlements of Cornwall. Finely bound in contemporary green morocco, richly gilt-tooled, and lettered in gilt to spine. Pink silk moiré endpapers, A.E.G. Book-label of Liam Sims, FSA to FEP. Leaves lightly browned, scattered spotting.
The first edition, handsomely bound, of a volume of historical and topographical observations on the county of Cornwall, produced by British landscape artist and engraver Frederick Wilton Litchfield Stockdale (1786–1858).
