The first edition of a diminutive mid-nineteenth century martial vade mecum compiled by British Army officer and military writer Frederick Augustus Griffiths (1795/6-1869). The book ran through eleven editions by 1873. This edition was published at Woolwich, where the author taught at the Royal Military Academy.
