A rare survival of the sole edition of a Kirkwall-printed pamphlet concerning the effect on the electors of Orkney and Shetland of the Thomas Dundas, Marquess of Zetland's (1795-1873) agreement to repay past overcharges: 'The age of extortion and oppression is on the eve of passing away, and is about to be succeeded by a period of restitution and redress'.
Magnus Troil is likely a pseudonym, most probably a reference to the Orcadian udaler featured in to Sir Walter Scott's The Pirate (1822).
